Between the Lyrics
The songs that tell the truth before we do
Some of you might not know this, but I’ve always been a singer.
Music was my first language long before journaling ever was.
When I was a teenager, Easy Ride by Madonna felt like a map.
It sounded heavy. Honest. A little lonely.
At the time, it felt like the truest description of my life.
A few weeks ago I mentioned that song to my voice teacher.
She paused and said something that stayed with me.
“What if your life’s song could also sound like where you’re going. Not only where you’ve been.”
That question unsettled me in the best way.
Because sometimes we choose art that mirrors our wounds.
We replay songs that understand our pain.
We rarely ask what might help us imagine a different chapter.
Lately I’ve been listening differently.
Not just enjoying music, but noticing what it pulls up in me.
How some songs return me to versions of myself I thought I had outgrown.
How others feel like quiet invitations into who I might be becoming.
Music can be a mirror.
A time capsule.
A forecast.
So I want to build something together.
A shared playlist.
A living soundtrack of honesty, change, grief, hope, reinvention, becoming.
🎧 Drop one song and the artist in the comments.
It can be:
• the song you cannot stop replaying
• one that makes your chest tighten or your shoulders drop
• something that feels like a chapter closing or opening
• a song that reminds you who you are
• or who you are trying to become
If you feel like sharing more, tell us which lyric stays with you.
I’ll gather everything into a community playlist and share it here.
Let’s see what stories show up between the songs.
❤️ If this feels like your kind of conversation, hit the heart so more people find it.

What a gorgeous way to build community :)
No way….okay I’ll use that 1% wisely
